This policy explains what personal data I collect through this website, what I use it for, which services process it on my behalf and what rights you have over it, under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Data controller

Mariana Marcelino is the controller of the data collected on this website. For any privacy question, write to info@mariana-marcelino.com.

What data I collect

  • Free redesign request: your email address and your website link, which you enter in the homepage forms.
  • Website diagnosis: your answers to the free diagnosis, your website address (if you give it) and, if you ask for the full report, your email address.
  • Contact form and email: your name (optional), your email address and whatever information you choose to share in your message.
  • Chat: if you use the website’s chat assistant, the messages you write. The conversation is only kept in your browser while the tab is open. If you choose “Email this conversation”, I receive the conversation and the email you enter.
  • Booking a call: when you click “Book a call”, Calendly’s calendar opens in a window on this website, where you enter your name, email and any other information the booking form asks for.
  • Technical data: as with any website, your browser automatically sends your IP address and technical information to the hosting server and, when you use them, to the third-party services built into the page, such as the booking calendar.

I don’t collect special categories of data, and this website is not intended for children under 16.

What I use your data for

  • To reply to your request, prepare the free redesign and the proposal you asked for, and send the diagnosis report. Legal basis: steps taken at your request before entering into a contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR).
  • To provide the services you hire and to meet legal obligations, such as invoicing. Legal basis: performance of a contract and compliance with a legal obligation.
  • To keep the website working and secure, and to measure visits anonymously so it can be improved. Legal basis: legitimate interest.

I don’t use your data for advertising and I don’t sell it to third parties.

Services I use to run the website

I don’t share your data for third parties to use. To run the website, I use a few technical services that process data only on my behalf and only for the purpose stated:

  • Sending emails: Resend (resend.com) sends the message I receive and the confirmation you get when you use a form. Web3Forms (web3forms.com) only steps in if Resend fails.
  • Visit statistics: Vercel Web Analytics (vercel.com) and Umami (umami.is) count visits anonymously and in aggregate. They don’t use cookies, don’t store your IP address and don’t identify you.
  • Chat assistant: if you use the chat, your messages are processed by Claude, from Anthropic (anthropic.com), only to generate the replies. Conversations aren’t used to train AI models, and the chat doesn’t ask you for personal data.
  • Call bookings: the Calendly calendar (calendly.com) only loads when you click “Book a call”. From then on, the details you enter are processed by Calendly, under its own privacy policy.
  • Email and hosting: my email provider stores the messages I receive, and the hosting server serves the website’s pages.

Some of these services are based outside the European Union, particularly in the United States. In those cases, data is protected by the safeguards provided for in the GDPR, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

How long I keep your data

  • Free redesign requests and enquiries that don’t lead to work: up to 12 months after the last contact.
  • Client data: for the duration of the contract and, after that, for as long as the law requires, for example for tax purposes.

Your rights

You can, at any time, ask to access your data, correct or delete it, restrict or object to its processing, and to receive it in a portable format. Just write to info@mariana-marcelino.com. I reply within one month at the latest.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority, the Portuguese Data Protection Authority, CNPD (www.cnpd.pt).

Cookies

This website doesn’t use its own cookies. Calendly may set cookies when you open the booking calendar. You can read the details in the Cookie Policy.
